Ancient Chinese secrets!

We have made it all the way to Ancient China.  We have learned about trade routes, Chinese dynasties, sailing ships, Marco Polo, kites, and silk among other things.  There are honestly too many things to learn.

Here are just a few things we did and books we read.

From the Evan-Moor Ancient Civilization pocket.

The Story of Ping.  Just for fun!  A favorite FIAR story of ours.

I was surprised by this little book.  I bought it along time ago.  It is filled with all kinds of information.
 Ancient Chinese money.

As a craft project, we made some money Ancient China style.  You get some clay like Sculpey, we used gold and silver, then you flatten it out with a roller, cut out quarter-sized circles (we used medicine dosing cups), make a hole in the top of the circle, and then bake as described on the label.  When it is finished baking and cooled, you can write on the coins with a black marker.  We drew various Chinese symbols on ours.  You can put your coins on a string or a stick.  They look really neat when they are finished too bad they are not worth anything.
So that about covers Ancient China for now.  We will sure revisit Ancient China again in the future.

再见 zài jiàn (Zai4jian4) - good bye
