Cute but highly annoying.

We love to feed the birds outside, and we have a really nice variety in our yard because we try to be bird-friendly.  We like to put a little "fancy" bird seed on the railing of our deck which includes a few nuts and berries, and the birds will come right up and eat off the deck.  It is really fun watching them.  The problem is the squirrels have discovered the treats on the deck and help themselves whenever we are not looking.  These squirrels are fearless.  We shoo them off, but at first they just sit there as if to mock us, and they just keep eating until we are practically on top of them.

A12 caught this little guy in action.  These pictures do a great job telling the story.

He is on his way up to the deck rail but heard us knock on the window and stopped.  See what I mean about the mocking? Looking over at us with a crooked eye.

A few minutes later he made it to the deck rail, still looking and mocking.

He is almost at the top but he is still looking at us.  Our window is to the right so that is why he is looking that way.

He made it!  Since he worked so hard to get there, I let him eat a little before we shooed him off again but he came right back.
Believe it or not, these squirrels have actually figured out how to scale the window to get the seeds in this window-suctioned bird feeder and house.  They go around the deck railing, jump onto the screens, and make their way up hence the reason the screens have been removed.  They are very cute but annoying. (The damaged blinds are because of Smokey. He thinks he can get the birds from inside so he tries to use the blinds to propel himself up. I stopped fixing the blinds because he does this around 10 times a day so there is not point).
