We are big fans of Lois Lowry. Her book Number the Stars is by far one of my favorite books hands down ever! Not a big fan of gore and the Holocaust per se but the writing is beautiful. Okay, I am going to stay on topic.
The Giver did not really catch our attention in the beginning which is usually a must but it was intriguing in a weird so of way so we kept going. Honestly, I was not sure what was really going on in but the idea becomes more clear once you are in. I won't give anything away as C14 tells me I always do but I get excited and forget! Here is the point, The Giver has a movie coming out in August 2014. See a preview here.
This film has some pretty big players such as Meryl Streep, Katie Holmes, Alexander Skarsgard, Brenton Thwaites, and Odeya Rush to mention a few. I think this might be one of those rare instances when a movie is quite possibly better than a book? All I know is that the trailers look great and with the fantastic writing of Lois Lowry and an all-star cast, it has to be amazing.
