Interesting idea!

DEADBEAT PARENTS: Not paying child support can result in losing your driving privileges in Georgia. Now, a new policy will link the driver's license computer to child welfare, which could significantly speed up license suspensions. Do you think it will help?  I do think it would help!  I know, I know if they can't get to work they can't pay anyway, blah, blah, if they are working and not paying what difference does it make?  If there is a paycheck involved the first priority is to the children, why should the deadbeat get a free pass?  There is no reason.

  1. 100% agreed! It does not matter if it is the mom or the dad. If you are getting a paycheck week after week and none of it goes to the kids, forget it! Some people just have to learn the hard way and what does this say to the child? It says I only care about me so your other parent can take up all the slack. It will just take one time in jail, and it most likely won't happen again but there are exceptions to every rule but anyone that neglects a child this way is not worth having around anyway. (*)

  2. This is actually not punishment enough imo. When you have a child, you support that child in every way, not just financially and not just when you feel like it. The primary parent does not have a choice in the matter, you don't pay, they have to cover everything and do the parenting. The good thing about kids is that they know. They can see what is going on. My son got to the point where he just started blocking his father out slowly just like was done to him. I think it hurts but they will get over it because they know they deserve better. It stinks but that is the way it is sometimes. The primary parents has to keep them going no matter what. The kids appreciate it now and they will remember later on in life. This kind of thing really shapes a child. Go GA!

  3. You don't get the right to choose whether you support your child, you just support your child. If you are a parent, you support! I think a lot of "dads" just feel like they are not living with their kids so they are no longer their problem and their mom can handle it. That is wrong on so many levels. This is not a man or a dad. Jail!

    1. I guarantee you that if the kids got dropped off to the care of the deadbeat parent, he would be bringing them back before the week was over simply for the lack of understanding what to do and having to provide everything. Men like these are cowards and should be ashamed. GA!!! Good for the south!

  4. My kids' dad just left, up and left, not a word. I took him to court to get help with getting him to pay which he is doing via income deduct order but he has not seen his kids in over six years. The kids are used to that and they don't seem to mind. The court systems will work. All the states are cracking down on these deadbeat parents because there are so many of them. Ridiculous! You should not have to be court-ordered to provide for the children you made and wanted, you should do it for the kids. UGH!
