It is sad when people do not understand independent, self-thinking kids.

You should always embrace and promote individual thinking and independence in kids, all kids!

That way when they grow up, they won't be codependent and living with their parents at 40 years old. That would be a shame.

I guess it is hard to embrace when you do not parent that way and you were not raised that way.
