"New math"....................

A couple days of the month, my girls go to the school bus drop off and pickup our 8-year-old neighbor girl.  They help her do homework and hangout with her until her mom gets back.  The other day, she pulled out her math work and proceeded to show us how to do "new math."  She was really excited about.  It is supposed to be an easier, more efficient way to work out math problems but I don't know.  I am not sure on which planet 118 x 4 = 4008, maybe on a "new planet."  Another reason I am grateful for homeschooling!
