Another author signing..........

My kids are so fortunate to be having all of the opportunities they have but don't get me wrong, I have to work really hard to pull it all together financially and physically as I juggle a lot of balls in the air as a single mom (wouldn't have it any other way) but it is completely worth it, 100%, even when I have to stay up until 2 a.m. to finish working because I was running them to events.

Tonight's adventure was another author signing.  This was the jackpot of the young adult genre.  There were also several published authors in the audience.  Bonus!

They were so chatty and friendly.  They answered so many questions and signed so many books all with a smile on their faces.

They each also read a chapter from their books which was phenomenal!

We always have misadventures when we head out for these kinds of events.  We always get lost or forget something or any other number of things happen while we are on our way but we always make it in one piece and have a great time.

My nonreader A15 also had a great time, and she is not a fan of books, any books!

C17 walked away with seven personally signed books, great conversations with the authors, and a big smile on her face.  Success!  That is all that matters to me!

First up was The Porcupine of Truth by Bill Konigsber.

This guy is crazy funny!

C17 has not read this author before but after hearing him read out loud, she was hooked.

Check him out here on Twitter.
The Call by Peadar O'Guilin.

Another funny guy but with an Irish accent.

Hearing him read his chapter out loud actually made A15 want to read his book and if you know A15, reading is the last thing she wants to do.

His publisher was also with him.  An English gent with a bowtie on.  Massively nice guy too.

Greeting us at the door was the first thing they did.  We talked with them for at least 10 minutes.  We were in the right place at the right time.

Dash and Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan.

C17 has read many of David Levithan's books with bookclub, and he is one of her favorites but this is the first Rachel Cohn book she will read.

These two were insanely funny while they read a chapter from their book out loud.  This is a must read!

Check out Rachel on Twitter here.
Every Day and Another Day by David Levithan.  These were both book club choices that C17 loved!

David is definitely on C17's top five three favorite authors.  He is quite the clown, so, so funny!

Find him on Twitter here.

The Raven Boys and The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater.

C17 has read at least four of Maggie's books.  SHE LOVES HER SO MUCH!

She was lucky enough to get to talk with Maggie and get a few pics with her as well.  I thought I was going to have to do CPR on C17 but luckily she snapped out of it.  HA!

Maggie is also funny and very witty.  Super nice lady, excellent author.
