Bird observation photos

We are doing a lesson on bird observation related to our current FIAR study Albert. We decided to post a few pictures of some of the birds that frequent our backyard looking for food, and there is always plenty of food for them. We love birds!

These are pictures of a red-bellied woodpecker that is in our yard on a daily basis. He is eating raw peanuts, and he seems to really enjoy them.

This is a mocking bird, one of many mocking birds that frequent our food supply.

What yard would be complete without the beautiful red cardinals? We have so many cardinals in our yard that we have lost count of them.

This is one of my favorites. The American Goldfinch. I love the bright yellow color. They enjoy black-oiled sunflower seeds.

Albert Five in a Row Volume 4

We started another FIAR title from volume 4 this week called Albert. It is a really cute story about Albert who will find any number of reasons to not go out into the "real world." While Albert reaches outside his window to check the weather a cardinal starts to build a nest in his hand. The story unfolds from there and in the end, Albert finally makes it outside.

This week we are working on Cardinals, bird observing, averaging, progressive detail, and fears that rob us.

Here my kiddos are hard at work on their cardinal notebook page.
Thanks for horsing around with me. You really never know what you will get when you read my blog so thanks for stopping by.
