Ancient Greece continues.....
Still moving forward with our ancient Greece study. Today we spent some time learning about the government in Athens, military power, the Persian War, and the Peloponnesian War.
We also worked on mixed-up myths which is yet another idea from the history pockets. We made character cards (the gods and goddesses, example: Athena), setting cards (example: Mount Olympus), problem or situation cards (example: Earthquake shakes the city) , and ending/resolution cards (example: Built a new temple). The idea was to mix up the cards from each category and choose 2 from the character cards and 1 card from the other categories. After you pick your cards, you simply write a new myth with the cards that you selected. This was a really fun activity and good writing practice.
