For the third sewing project, C11 chose to make a dustruffle for her bed. There was a good bit of fabric leftover from the curtains that grandma made her so C11 decided to put it to good use. I love the way she thinks!
This was not a terribly hard project. You will need a flat sheet that you can cut up and material for the ruffle. You will also have to measure your bed.

This is a plain flat sheet, and it was around $6. |

C11 cut the fabric according to the measurements. These pieces will be sewn onto the flat sheet. |

I hated to put this on the floor but there was not a big enough table so on
the floor it went (GASP!). She pinned the fabric onto the flat sheet and started to sew. |

This is the finished product. She really did a great job, and she loves the class.
The final class is Monday, and she has one more project to complete.
She has learned a lot about sewing and had a great time doing so. She also made some really nice things. |

Very nice!! Did you just cut the sheet so it laid flat on the box spring area with no overhang? Im curious.. ;) I need to make a dust ruffle for a bed in this house! lol
ReplyDeleteYes, she cut the sheet flat. She cut 2 pieces of the fabric to make ruffles for each corner so nothing would show. It really was not too hard, especially for someone like you, crafty you!
