While working on our Helen Keller study, we took some time out to learn about Louis Braille. When he was 3 years old, he accidentally stabbed his eye with one of his father's tools. His eye became infected, and he transferred the infection to his other eye and later became blind in both eyes.
You can read more about
Louis Braille here.

A few books that we read. Out of the Darkness is an excellent story about his life. |
I have found this particular literary study of Helen Keller to be a great one.
Helen Keller, Anne Sullivan (Helen's teacher), and
Louise Braille all had handicaps but they were not limited by them. Instead, they all went on to achieve great things in life.
They were ALL very inspiring, and each of them proved that if you work hard and have determination, you can achieve your dreams.
