Homeschooler makes history!!
I was reading an article in the Homeschooling Enrichment magazine for March/April 2013 and a few pages in, I found a fantastic article about a 24-year-old homeschooler named Sarah Fowler who was a home-schooled student and has landed herself a position on the Ohio State Board of Education. She beat out her competitor, James Fowler (who is an education lawyer and quite a bit older than Ms. Fowler) by almost twice as many votes. Ms. Fowler said that her being homeschooled put her in a unique position and allowed her to use her schedule to her advantage, and it appears she did just that! She believes that parents should be allowed to choose the education that they consider best for their own children. Good luck Sarah with your new position!
