It took me forever to get a Facebook page, I only signed up with twitter so my girls could keep up with The Hunger Games and neither of them had a twitter page, then I signed up for Pinterest (which I love!), the next thing was google+, and I have been blogging for a few years. One social media page turned into me having an account on everything. I think I am signed up for a few other things too but I cannot remember what they are at this time, good reads???? I just got caught up in this big social media spiral. For the most part, there are positives and negatives. I was not on board with all of these different media sites but then I realized how much exposure I could actually get and how many awesome ways there is to use social media so I decided that we could all have a Facebook page and see how it goes. I went in blindly and did not know about the different settings and avenues to maneuver this and that but now I know. I did not realize that because I am friends with someone and they are too, they could see anything I post which is actually the reason for this blog post.
I would call myself a private person for the most part. I never give names on my blog, I never give specifics on any situations that I am living presently or in the past, and I do not put pictures of my kids on any social media sites simply for the fact that once you put something on the internet, it never goes away and people can misuse anything you put out there.
The bottom line for me is this, if you are not part of my life because you chose to leave or I kicked you out, you really have no business keeping track of me anywhere online or otherwise. I do not want to see something I posted on my twitter page being sent to another on their Facebook page. Find something better to do! Do not read my blog every day. I would change my blog to password protected only but I have so many readers, and I do not want to lose them. It really stinks that I have to feel this way about my own personal goings on. This is one of the drawbacks to social media.
