What has happened to television shows today?

Fortunately, I am lucky enough to be able to sit back at the end of a long day and watch either television or a movie with my kiddos.  We are always looking for something new to watch but there are barely any shows on television that I actually want to watch.  I am not a fan of reality TV.  For me, it is just dumb.  People get famous for nothing or famous for being famous.  I am not into that.  I have compiled a short list of television shows that are currently on random channels.

Again, this is a short list.  There are so many more shows that I did not list because I guess I have enough to make my point.  What kind of choices are these?  No wonder there are so many crimes, teenage pregnancies, infidelity in marriages, and dead beauty queens.  Apparently these awful things happen enough to produce more than 15 shows a year.  This really might explain a lot.  I also have no interest in any Real Housewives of Anywhere.  Gag!  There is one show that I actually said was ridiculous and I wish it would go away because I took it as an insult since it is based on a family in Georgia but I have now changed my views a little, and it is actually very funny.  Of course, I am speaking of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.  The first few times I saw it, I was mad.  Not everyone in Georgia speaks this way or acts this way.  I find it very interesting that English subtitles are provided for a show based in America with an American family who speak English (if that is what you call it) and the only way to really comprehend what is going on is because there are subtitles. HA!  I just want real TV to come back with real story-lines and real writers with real actors.  Anyone can have a reality show these days, I just wish some people did not.
