They were pet sitting this last weekend at a home with a heavily wooded backyard when the discovery of an Eastern Ribbon Snake in the process of eating a frog (which was way too big IMO) was made by the dogs.
It is always good to know when you are in the woods if a snake is poisonous or not. Luckily, the Eastern Ribbon Snake a.k.a. Thamnophis sauritus sauritus is not a poisonous snake. It is, however, rather fancy looking with those yellow stripes. Sadly, we could not get a picture of the snake we saw but below is an image to reference.
