First serial killer, second century......

Vocal.media
I recently read an article having to do with China, some poor food choices they make, and then I saw something even more interesting to me.

Turns out the first documented serial killer was from China's Han Dynasty and a prince, no less.  Prince Liu Pengli, the Prince of Jidong, was a blood-thirsty, murder-for-the-fun-of-it type of guy.  Not much else is known about this prince other than he would take slaves out at night to wreak havoc.  It is said that he murdered over 100 people starting in the year 144 B.C. just because he could.

The son of one of the victims exposed the prince for his actions and the court officials asked the Emperor at the time (Pengli's cousin) to execute Liu but instead his cousin stripped him of his royal titles and banished him to the country of Shangyong.
