Happy birthday A10

Believe it or not, A10 is officially A11 (sniff).  That is going to be hard to get used to.  She came into the world on this day eleven years ago at 3:48 p.m. weighing in at only 5 pounds 10 ounces.  She is an awesome daughter!

There are not enough words to describe her but here are a few that come to mind; energetic, funny, witty, loud, unique, amazing, wild, and loving.  She is a great daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin, friend, and niece.

The world is a better place with A11 in it!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  We love you!

A10's owl drawing

A10 has recently become obsessed with owls, and I do mean obsessed!  She has read every book in the library she could find and draws at least 10 owls a day.  She can spout off facts like a professional bird handler.  I thought this owl drawing was particularly nice so I wanted to show it off.

A drawing by A10.

A10 drew this today, and I thought it was an especially nice drawing.

A new recipe by A10.

This is a new recipe/game that A10 invented.  First you put a little peanut butter on a graham cracker, then use toothpicks to make a tic-tac-toe board, use marshmallows and chocolate chips as the X' and O's, play, remove the toothpicks and enjoy.

We played this until we got a stomachache so I suggest maybe limit yourself to 2 games.

American Girl Doll store at North Point.

So for A10's birthday, we headed out to the American Girl store.  This has been a birthday tradition for a few years now.

This time I decided to take a few pictures.  Many of my pictures did not even turn out well because I was constantly being pushed about by squealing, little girls running through the store with their dolls. The store was packed to capacity.  Considering today's economy, I was amazed by the amount of money being spent.  Someone obviously has money, and I believe it is the American Girl store.

Here is a look inside:
This is the outside entrance.
Kaya
Lots of books!
The bitty babies.
Addy, I love Addy!
Kanani
Rebecca
A display for Kanani.
Kanani's dress.
Stuff.
Stuff.
You guessed it, more stuff!
We always have fun at the American Girl store.  We also spend lots of money there even though these AMERICAN girls are made in China.

Birthday party!

A9 will soon be A10.  My baby girl is going to be double digits, and I am happy and sad all at the same time.  She invited her best friends over to spend the night and here are a few pictures of the fun.  It would appear that the party centered around food.  It seemed like a good idea at the time.
We had candy.....

Candy.....

Soda....

Air-popped popcorn....

Cupcakes....

Cupcakes.....

and cupcakes with candy....
We also had pizza and ice cream.

We have been very into planting things lately so we picked out party favors to reflect that.  Target had some great deals for $1.

We found these little metal buckets and filled them.

A gardening shovel.

Gardening gloves.

A starter kit for sunflowers (Helianthus annuus).  I just added this because we are studying Latin, and I like to show off.
There has been nonstop eating, nonstop laughing, and nonstop playing all day.  All of the girls are very happy and having a great time.  It is getting a little late and I see no end in sight.  I am thinking that might have something to do with the food selections.

Happy birthday A10!
Thanks for horsing around with me. You really never know what you will get when you read my blog so thanks for stopping by.
