Homeschool field day 2011.

We are part of a homeschooling group that has many activities, and one of our favorites is field day.  We thought it might be canceled due to weather but we got lucky so by 1:00, field day was in full swing.  The nice part about the weather was that the sun was not out, and it was actually a little cool.

**Disclaimer:  I know there are a lot of people that do not like to have their kid's pictures on the internet especially close ups and I am one of those so if you see a picture of your kiddo and would like me to remove it, please let me know.  No dates or times were given.

Over 230 kids took part in this fun day.

Here are a few photos of the events:

Checking in and getting your group assignment.
There is always a bouncy house.
This picture and the next picture shows some high-schoolers playing kickball.
One of our military dads was kind enough to help out.  He was a really good sport.  He held a hula hoop for 2 hours so kids could throw a ball through it.  I guess it was easier than being in a war though.
Tug of war.
Another ball game.
Waiting very patiently in line for their turn.
Sack race.  I love to watch this one.
An obstacle course.
There were many other things going on like the 50 yard dash, 3 legged race, and an egg and spoon race.   There was also a jump rope section and a few more things that I cannot remember.

We had prizes that were donated by some local companies.  An orthodontist was kind enough to donate bottled water, bags, and water bottles, Dairy Queen donated cards for free ice cream, and Menchies donated cards for free serving of yogurt.

This was a good day for all.
