Facts don't care about your feelings....

This is going to be very interesting, very interesting indeed!

My political kids snagged a few tickets to this event.

I am kind of scared and definitely nervous because he always draws a diverse crowd that can get completely out of control but I think they can handle it.

It is nice to see young people taking an interest in politics.

It makes your 12-year-old little heart so happy when....

you get to be on set with the character from your favorite book (and movie) growing up and the scene is a freak show.  Does not get much better than that.

Thanks to my new BFF Adam Bomb from Q99.7....

Adam Bomb and NF 2018 at Q99.7, Atlanta.
A18 will get to see NF live in concert at the Coca-Cola Roxy

So excited about this.

We saw Bastille at the Coca-Cola Roxy last year, and it was a blast!

So lucky that everything seems to fall into place after all the drama.

Something to be proud of...

A18 has graduated high school and has been dual enrolled in college classes and is now starting her second semester.  I would have never thought I would have 2 high school, homeschool graduates, but I do!  I am so proud of A18! And for that matter C20 bringing in straight A's in college two years straight and myself for raising two amazing humans that are loved by many, courteous, helpful, conscientious, well-grounded, nice people, especially considering the hell their other parent has put them through.

My kids and I are the definition of a successful single parent home, and I could not be more proud than I am.

When you rescue a "male" African Grey Parrot and you think you are literally watching said "male" African Grey Parrot die at 1 a.m. but then an egg pops out.

I'm leaving tonight, I'm leaving tonight, I'll be gone in the morning.....

The only thing A18 wanted for her birthday was to see The Neighbourhood in concert but at the time, they were not touring here or anywhere close by but then we found out that Jesse Rutherford (singer for The Neighbourhood) was coming to Atlanta, score!

That concert was a freak show and more than a little scary but 100% awesome and would totally go again. (You can read about that here.)

Fast-forwarded to today and guess who is coming to town in time for the holidays, and I am not talking about Santa.  The Neighbourhood!

Guess A18 knows what her Christmas present is...

Its official........

I now have two college students.  I am so proud of them both. They both were accepted prior to graduation, both home-schooled their entire school career, and they are both just amazing human beings.

I have raised two incredible humans on my own.  Life is great, just as it should be.  Way to go A18 getting accepted to all the schools she applied to and to C19 for being a straight A college student for the last two years.  Its just incredible!  This joy is what all parents should feel when they actually participate in raising kids.  Nothing compares to it really.

A18's bday adventures.........

A18's birthday week went out with a bang.  The finale was a trip to Lenox Square Mall, another dinner out, and then to Center Stage to see Jesse Rutherford in concert followed by Waffle House to go because, I mean, no real reason other than it was late and sounded like a good idea at the time, which it totally was.

So we get to Lenox Square Mall, circled the parking lot about 12 times until we found a spot only the hagfish in the Mercedes in front of us who already passed the car that was leaving the parking spot decided to put on her hazard lights and proceed to back up at 20 mph nearly hitting our car just for a freaking parking space.  WTF is wrong with people?  We decided to take one more lap and luckily
Never go here.
You have been warned.
found a car leaving.  I guess it was not actually lucky that we found a parking spot because when we went inside the mall, it was like the gates of hell had opened and sucked us inside.  This place is insane, 100% insane.  I practically lived at that mall when I was younger and after today, you could not pay me to go back there, ever!  Hot breath everywhere, rude people, weird people, escalators with no less that 60 people at a time, trash everywhere, and a couple of dudes wearing hot pink spandex.  I felt like I was watching a movie.  Needless to say we spent more time battle the bi***es in the parking lot than in the mall.  So we said adios to the mall.

We headed out to find somewhere to eat.  That went pretty well until a blind man coming back from the bathroom decided to stop at our table and start talking to me and ended up literally sitting on top of C19 because he thought I was just there alone....I tried to tell him that I was there with my daughters, he then tried to sit down, and said what is that?  I was like my kid and then I literally busted out loud laughing.  Dinner was over at that point and we were off to Center Stage.

Center Stage is a different kind of venue.  There are three sections, Vinyl, The Loft, and Center Stage
Theater.  Vinyl is the smallest section.  That is where we met my beloved Dallon Weekes a few weeks
ago.  The Loft has room for about 500 people, and the theater holds about 6,000.
Can we just appreciate how beautiful this guy is for a minute???
We get in line to head into the building.  We talked to a few people in line who seemed fairly normal as far as normal goes so we did not think anything of it.  One girl and a Lil Wayne look alike brought a 6-month-old baby (idiots), there was a black Lady Gaga, and a handful of Halseys slinking around.  Looked like the typical concert crowd but that thought left my brain quickly after the show started.  But before I start let me explain there were two full bars open and the entire place reeked of marijuana.  I guess people were "vaping" with marijuana-scented liquids.

Up first was "artist" known as  Hearts <3.  This guy was interesting to say the least.  All he did was lip sync and run off stage.  He was followed by Goody Grace.  This kid was pretty cute.  He had original material.  He also bragged about dropping out of high school in 10th grade lucky for him he has an actual talent.  About three songs in, a fight broke out, a few girls were punched in the face, bleeding, and crying.  Another girl fainted.  Security was in the crowd nonstop and Goody Grace just kept on singing through it all.

Finally, Jesse came on with some big beef dude and the crowd went crazy.  Security escorted at least 5 people to the security area to wait on the cops to take them away.  Jesse's performance was great.  He played songs from his solo album and a few songs from his original band, The Neighbourhood,
who I love so much.  By the time we left, there were three cop cars, one ambulance, and another on the way outside when we headed to our car.

I mean this night cannot really be summarized or forgotten.  Completely insane honestly.  We have been to hundreds of concerts in all types of venues and nothing like this has ever happened before but the good news is that A18 had a great time.  Her birthday lasted one week.  She received tons of love and birthday wishes, cakes, and gifts, including a happy birthday from a cousin with the exact same birthday which was so nice.

Happy birthday, A18!  Keep on being the unique, awesome person you are.  She said this was her best birthday so far!
