Never did I ever think I would end up participating in raising multiple litters of kittens or fostering cats, but here it is all because my punks have BIG hearts!

Operation kitten rescue......
After about four very long hours, the girls finally helped pull this little cutie out of a neighbor's car. She must have gotten lost from her momma and ran under the car because she was scared. Good thing the girls were there. They kept hearing little cries and realized that this kitten was hiding out in a car. Food, water, and toys were brought out but nothing. She got scared again and ran to another neighbor's car who fortunately was about to leave and opened up his hood and took her right out. He and his buddy wanted to keep her, they are both about 20 and super cute and so nice to want to help this little kitten, but one of the other neighbors wanted her so much, she started to cry so the boys let her have the kitten. The girls pet sit for her dog so now I guess they will get to pet sit this cutie as well. So glad this worked out and that I did not end up with another pet.

Wonder what they are doing now?
It has been about 2 weeks now since the little kittens moved to their new home. We were looking through pictures on C12's camera and remembered all the joy these little kittens brought us.
I am glad they have a home, but we sure do miss them!

A happy ending.
As most of you know, a stray cat that was born in our yard decided that she would have a litter of her own in this very same yard. I guess we just have that kind of yard. We felt like they would certainly not make it being outside in this heat so we decided to move them into our basement. Fast forward to 7 1/2 weeks later. Today, all 3 of these kittens got a home. Two went together and the other one went to a relative of the people that took the other two. So needless to say, we are SUPER HAPPY!
A few reminder photos of how cute they are.
Here is momma with her kittens. She actually seems relieved that they are not here anymore. She is just relaxing and hanging out. She does deserve a break. She did a great job with her first litter. We will be taking her to get fixed. I am not sure I could handle another 8 weeks of kitten duty and neither could she.
Have a great life kittens!

Cookie and her kittens.
Finally, some pictures of Cookie and her kittens. I never knew it was so hard to take pictures of kittens. I have taken a lot of pictures but the kittens were moving so they looked like hairy blobs.
It has been a lot of fun watching these kittens grow and change over the last 2 weeks. Hopefully, they will all find good homes in the next 6 weeks.

Cookie is having kittens!!!
In case you do not know, Cookie (we call her Cookie Butt) is a little kitten that was born here in our yard last spring, which makes her about a year old. She has a big round belly that is growing every day. According to an article we read, cats can go into heat at around 4 months. So it did not take us long to figure out that Cookie is having kittens. I am a little sad about this because she is just too little to have kittens in my opinion. She is still a kitten herself.
We read that the gestational period for a cat is on average 63 days.
Here are a few pictures of the mom-to-be and another blog post.
Now that we know she is having kittens, we cannot wait for them to get here.
