Snow days.................

We love waking up to snow!!!!  Real snow (not just a flake or two) is a rare occurrence in Georgia.  Kids, snow, and hot chocolate = the best day ever!  I mean really, what could possibly be better than this????

Happy snow day!

Baby, its COLD outside!

Cold is putting it mildly!  Everything is basically frozen.  Here are just a few of the random pics that C15 and I have been taking.  (The better pics are not mine, of course!)
Branches, plain but pretty.

Frozen weird berry-things.

Frozen pine cones.

Pine tree.

This cute little black-capped chickadee is waiting for a turn at the bird feeder.

And so are these male cardinals.
This is the house two doors over.  If you look really close,
you can see four crazy pigeons
sitting on the rooftop.   Luckily, they are too big
for the bird feeder or they would eat it all.
Nothing can stop Cookie Butt, not snow,
not ice, not even 10 degree weather.
I love this crazy cat!
Just because it is pretty.

So much snow!

This snow has been unbelievable!  Definitely a winter to remember.

This is our driveway and where it meets the street.  They tried to outline it a little for the picture.

The bushes are covered in snow!

The woods are so beautiful!

What?  That is a lot of snow for Hotlanta!

Random little Eastern Towee.

We have had hot chocolate so we are heading back out in the snow!

Snow, again!

There is really nothing better than waking up with your kids and everything is covered in beautiful, white snow!  Flurries everywhere and continuous!  Snowed-in, no where to go and nothing to do except just enjoy the snow and chill with family.  Today, I think there will be a lot of hot chocolate, Xbox, and movie-watching!

These bird pics were taken by me through the window so they are not too good!
Poor little guy!

Determined to eat regardless of the snow.

Critter tracks

I need to set up a night vision camera in our backyard.  It seems we have quite a few critters running around back there at night.  I think it would be neat to see.  Here are just a few critter tracks we photographed.  We think the larger tracks belong to deer, several different deer.

This one is kind of weird.  There are distinct foot patterns but also dragging.

Beware of the Snow leopard.

We had so much fun before the snow started to melt away for good. It was just enough snow for us!

Snow!

We have been out in the snow almost all day long!  Time for hot showers, hot chocolate, and a great movie!

I love the snow flakes falling in the background.

This makes me really glad we do not have more snow in GA.  What a mess!

Just starting to snow in GA!

SNOW!!!!

A giant snow cupcake for me.

Today is my birthday and in my MANY years I have received a lot of great gifts but snow has never been one of them.  Today, we have A LOT of snow, and it is still coming down.

Here are a few pictures.  I guess most of these photos need no explanation but I will probably explain them anyway because that is just what I do!

A snow covered bush.

Cardinals waiting for their food.

Snow!

Our front yard.

Our backyard.

The woods across the street.

The side of our house.
I, of course, had to make a lesson out of this so we measured the snow in inches and centimeters.  I know this is riveting stuff!

Now for the fun shots of the kiddos playing in the snow.  There will be a lot of them because their dad is off working at the fire station and had to miss all of the fun.  Sorry daddy but thanks for working and helping others.  Their aunt is also here from Alaska but she could not make it over "because of the roads."  My oldest daughter reminded her that SHE LIVES IN ALASKA and compared to that snow, this snow is nothing to drive in.  Maybe she can brave the storm and come over tomorrow and play.  Maybe their other aunt can come too.
The first time sledding down the hill.
Going back to try again.
I am having fun but I am SOOOOO cold!
Taking cover under the sleds.
A belly ride.

A snow tail.
Wait for me!
Ooops!
Look how fast I am going.
This is what happens when you go that fast.
Wipe out!
"I will go if you go."
Yee-haw!
Supergirl wiped out!
Why did I listen to her?
Being silly!

We are heading back out now and then we are going to have a big cup of hot chocolate and sit by the fire.
Thanks for horsing around with me. You really never know what you will get when you read my blog so thanks for stopping by.
